Biotope City Wienerberg

Vienna’s first Biotope city with 950 apartments was built on the former Coca-Cola production site between 2017 and 2021. In Biotope city, the needs of people, fauna and flora are supposed to be addressed on an equal footing and given importance accordingly.
In the spring of 2020, IAT Greenline was commissioned by the Wien Süd housing cooperative to take over the garden design for building site 5, both on the ground and on the roof terrace.

Garden design for a housing project on the former Coca-Cola site
A lot of turf was laid, ground cover, perennials, shrubs and trees were planted, plant troughs and herb gardens were laid out for the community terrace. In total, more than 8,000 plants were used for this extraordinary and sustainable project.
